Colour-and-Trace Animal Drawing Books (5 Books)

Five paperback colour-and-trace books that teach children to draw animals. They trace over the dotted lines to draw each animal, then colour it in. The set has about 60 pages in total, so there is plenty to practise.

What your child learns

• Drawing skills: tracing shows how simple lines build up into an animal.
• Pre-writing: following lines strengthens the control needed for letters.
• Colouring: finishing each animal in colour builds creativity and pride.

Why parents like it

Tracing gives children a quick win, which builds confidence to try drawing on their own. The slim books travel well and are an easy screen-free activity for any time of day. Start with simple animals and move on to trickier ones as your child improves. Many children go on to draw the animals freehand once they have traced them a few times.
